Heather Sandford is a butcher and a farmer.  She and her husband started The Piggery in 2007 because they had a personal love of self-sustaining food and nature.  They opened up their farm and by simple demand, started selling fresh pork from their farm-raised pigs at the local farmer’s market.  Six weeks later, dozens of people were waiting in line!  In this incredible interview, Heather talks about her business, why she’s so passionate about providing a local farm fresh option to her community, how she’s grown by word of mouth marketing and how she acquired a USDA license to start her wholesale business!  Listen to Heather talk about one of their darkest moments and how she’s stayed true to her core competency.
