Some qualities \u2014 such as customers with sufficient disposable income, availability of a large employee pool, low taxes and fewer regulations \u2014 certainly tend to make a community more appealing to entrepreneurs \u00a0in general. Still other aspects of a community might appeal to a specific type of entrepreneur.<\/p>\n<p>In an effort to determine what kinds of entrepreneurs are drawn to different communities, Small Business Trends recently conducted a study of the U.S. Census Bureau\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.census.gov\/programs-surveys\/sbo.html\" target=\"_blank\">Survey of Business Owners<\/a> to discover the types of business owners drawn to various U.S. cities.<\/p>\n<p>The study then looked at the characteristics of communities that drew each group. Over the next few weeks, we\u2019ll share these results. \u00a0We\u2019ll look at what communities seem to draw the most women entrepreneurs, minority entrepreneurs and small business entrepreneurs and why. We\u2019ll also look at the results of a NerdWallet study that attempted to rank cities by their attractiveness to young entrepreneurs. But let\u2019s get started with the top cities for women in business.<\/p>\n<h2>Top Cities for Women Entrepreneurs<\/h2>\n<p>When it comes to cities attracting women entrepreneurs, some of the names on the list shouldn\u2019t be too surprising. Top communities on the list are known as leaders in tourism, fashion, finance, media and entertainment.
