Michelle Boyd DeJong is owner/operator at mdb&co and has been active in a variety of areas including project management, copywriting, blogging, marketing consulting, media planning, event marketing, research, and public relations. Michelle also sits on the board of directors for High Hopes in High Heels, a non-profit with goals to empower Tampa Bay’s women to improve their lives personally, professionally and philanthropically through supporting the community. She has been listed in the Tampa Bay Business Journal in the 2012 Up & Comers section and in her first year in business generated over 100 clients!

Michelle is quite special to us here at Biz Women Rock! We’ve gotten to know her quite personally and wanted to tell you why she really rocks. Michelle is in the fight for her life right now as she was diagnosed in March with an inoperable brainstem glioma (brain tumor). Since diagnosis Michelle and her husband have raised over $50,000.00 for Miles for Moffitt, cancer research in Tampa Bay. Michelle has also taken time to partake in several other non-profit events since diagnosis all while undergoing treatment. She’s an aspiring author currently writing “On March 14” – a book chronicling her experiences and lessons learned during the fight for her life.

She faced this challenge with a positive & selfless attitude focused on using her experiences to help others. 
The FIGHTER mentality is much more than a battle with cancer. It is an initiative to inspire through action & attitude beginning with a personal conscious decision & ending with changed lives.
