This week we are excited to introduce you to the fabulous Theodora Sergiou. Theodora has been a finalist for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 New Jersey Monthly Leading Women Entrepreneurs Award and featured in Forbes Magazine’s special New Jersey Women Business Leaders section. She is the acting vice president and COO of Nicholas Pools Inc, a leader in the industry and recognized by The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, bestowed with The 2013 International Award of Excellence for residential vinyl-lined freeform pools.

Theodora has over 25 years of experience in the Swimming Pool Construction Industry; she has been leading the way for women in the Pool & Spa Industry since the age of sixteen when she first began learning how to manage, encourage and even lead in what is traditionally a male-dominated environment. Her entrepreneur skills began while working after school, weekends and vacations with her parents, Nicholas & Flora Christofi, who founded Nicholas Pools Inc. Upon their retirement in 2003, Theodora and her husband Sotiris purchased the family business and have strived to grow and improve it. Nicholas Pools Inc. has blossomed into one of Ocean and Monmouth Counties largest backyard retailers, specializing in vinyl liner Inground Swimming Pools, Hot Tubs, & Renovations.

Theodora was featured in a 2013 New Jersey Women Business Leaders special section in Forbes’. In April of 2014 she was chosen as a “Power 50” woman and interviewed by Marie Grace Berg for a Podcast on Today’s Leading Women.com. She is also a contributing author to the Big Bold Business Book Series, and a member of the Rider Women’s Leadership Council. In 2013 Theodora Sergiou was awarded by His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey for her volunteer work and dedication to Saint Barbara Greek Orthodox Church.
